 General Camps

ATX KIDS CLUB With a focus on urban literacy and local culture, ATX Kids Club inspires campers to experience the rich diversity of Austin by taking daily adventures on Cap Metro. Subjects explored include nature, art, diversity, and careers, and the camp emphasizes fitness and healthy eating. Ages 4-12. June 7-Aug. 27. $375. AUSTIN PARKS & RECREATION CAMPS Austin's Parks and Recreation Department is offering virtual and in-person camps this year, with participants selected via lottery. Apply April 19-May 16, and notifications will be made by June 1. The "Stay Creative" free virtual camp will explore the basic principles of art, culture and history with PARD’s museums and cultural center staff. Limited capacity in-person programming will be offered at nature centers, cultural centers, and general recreation sites. Ages 5-15. June 7-Aug. 16. Citywide, and virtual.
AUSTIN SUNSHINE CAMP Five days and four nights of exciting, in-person outdoor activities including canoeing, hiking, swimming, science, nature, cooking, arts & crafts, a ropes course, and team-building activities. This year, camp is held at Zilker Lodge with limited capacity, with campers ages 11-14 attending the first half of the summer and ages 8-10 in the second. Boys & Girls Clubs of Austin Great Futures BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AUSTIN GREAT FUTURES Boys & Girls Clubs summer camps offer a variety of high-quality programs designed to keep kids learning, active, and engaged. Camp Champions CAMP CHAMPIONS Camp Champions has created a tradition of excellence since 1967. With the top-notch facility and staff of a premier overnight camp, this camp is distinguished by its developmental focus on building strong kids. CAMP HEADWATERS Three locations around town provide summer fun for all ages, with Summer Clubhouse for the younger ones offering activities built on Montessori principles and Camp Headwaters offering skating, rock climbing, and water sports for older adventurers. Camp Latinitas CAMP LATINITAS With five weeks of summer camp, there’s a week for every chica! Choose from Cine, Design, Healthy, Power, or, new this year, Game Chica. Camp Trinity CAMP TRINITY Themed half-day camps run in the morning and afternoon, so sign up for one or make it a full day. Squad STX Boys Camping SQUAD STX BOYS CAMPING Run by former U.S. Army infantry officers, Squad STX is a boys-only five-day, four-night camping and leadership program, which is a unique combination of summer camp and scouting. ST.ART Pre-College at UT Austin ST.ART PRE-COLLEGE AT UT AUSTIN The Department of Art & Art History at UT Austin invites emerging teen artists to explore their artistic process, style, and voice through ridiculously engaging programs in art and design. The one-week Zip ST.ART and four-week ST.ART Intensive are led by practicing artists and exemplary educators who guide students through the creative process, from ideation to implementation. Camp One World CAMP ONE WORLD When Camp One World starts on Monday, the little red truck from Missoula Children's Theatre arrives with everything necessary to put on a full-scale musical production on the One World Theatre stage. Excused Absence Comedy Camps EXCUSED ABSENCE COMEDY CAMPS Excused Absence, the youth program for ColdTowne Theater, offers improv and sketch comedy camps online, outside, and indoors. Camps engage young performers in collaborative, hilarious creation. Organized by age and interests, both experienced and new performers will find a low-pressure, supportive experience. PARAMOUNT PERFORMING ARTS CAMPS You might already be familiar with Paramount Theatre's award-winning in-person camps, but what about their digital camps? They went virtual in 2020 for the first time and it was a great success. This summer, they’re offering full day camps: Camp Paramount and Camp Story Wranglers, where campers can have fun learning singing, dancing, acting, prop-making, creative writing, and performing. And reinvented for a digital format, our Summer Songwriting Workshop is a class for middle and high school students, offered once a week for nine weeks, and ends with a socially distanced showcase at the State Theatre. Austin Dog Alliance AUSTIN DOG ALLIANCE Can your little one not get enough of man's best friend? Austin Dog Alliance lets your kid spend the summer in a puppy panic, learning about dogs and dog care alongside the family canine or a "rented" doggo, with options for in-person and online camps. AUSTIN SCHOOL OF FASHION DESIGN Half- and full-day classes for the beginner to advanced fashion designer. Austin School of Film Creative Media Camps AUSTIN SCHOOL OF FILM CREATIVE MEDIA CAMPS Bring stories to life through the power of film, animation, and creative media through hands-on learning. Each camper is mailed a creative media box with tools and supplies needed to complete the projects, and will receive access to free trials to creative media software for the duration of the workshop if it pertains to lesson.
